FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We have reached the end of Semester one, and I'm sure you will agree, it has been a very busy and productive period. I look back on many successful events and activities, as well as being impressed by the learning progress made by our children. I hope that the term break provides some down time for the students and opportunity for some family time.

Student reports will be sent home on Friday. This year, we have used a new report generation product called ‘Accelerus’ which has allowed for greater efficiency in the preparation and printing of the report. Families will notice a slight change to the overall formatting of the report from last year, otherwise the information contained is consistent with past reporting templates. Once families have received and reflected upon their reports, they are invited, if they wish, to make time to meet with teachers in the early part of term 3 to discuss their child’s progress and to refine learning goals.

Last Thursday evening, I was privileged to be a part of our first Instrumental evening for 2019. With over 180 students currently learning an instrument, the logistics of hosting the event have become increasingly complex! I acknowledge and thank Steph Insanally, Michelle Page, Jen Frith and all of our excellent instrumental teachers for both their ongoing efforts with our children and for bringing the event to life. I also thank you, as Parents, for recognising the value of a music education and for investing in your child’s music tuition.

On Wednesday 3rd July, our first Semester JOEYS group will have their commissioning  and graduation ceremony, in preparation for their commencement in school from Term 3. My thanks to Anne Whitters and Paula Thomson for their wonderful efforts in promoting early years education through JOEYS and Playgroup. We look forward to welcoming our Semester two JOEYS in Week 3 of Term 3. Please spread the word about our Playgroup and JOEYS program, as an excellent way to transition into our school community!

Have a great week everyone!

God bless,

Phil Schultz.
