Netball knockouts
Eleven of our year six girls went to a netball knockout competition on the 13th of June 2019
The girls went to compete in this fun round robin competition to represent our school, they spent the whole school day at Clapham Primary. Our St Josephs team played three games on the day and won all of them against St Raphael, Clapham Primary and Gillie Street Primary School. The first game was against Clapham Primary which we won 37/14, our second game was against St Raphael which we won again 42/15 and our last game was against Gillies Street which we won 29/12 all of the girls played really well and had a good day.
We are looking forward to playing in the next round in the knockout competition against Thiele Primary School and Eden Hills Primary on Thursday the 26th of July.

Enrichment - Sphero/Coding
On Wednesday the 19th of June term 2 week 8 Mr. Bratt ran a Sphero program with the some students from St. Josephs Kingswood, St. Thomas Goodwood and St. Therese Colonel Light Gardens.
Spheros are little robotic ball that are controlled by our iPads and we have to code them to where we want them to go. After we learnt how to do that we did a tricky course that was set up with masking tape on the floor.
We were able to do this activity here at St. Josephs Kingswood 33 Cambridge terrace, located up in our Multipurpose Room. We wanted to do Sphero so we can learn how to code, and make new friends.
Because there were so many of us doing it we all got to choose a colour for our Sphero so we knew whoes was who's.
I really enjoyed doing Sphero with Mr Bratt because it was a great opportunity to make new friends with other schools and also getting to know how to code. It was loads of fun trying to complete the course and then playing Sphero soccer at the end which was so much fun but a little bit tricky.

Enrichment - Junior Masterchef
On Wednesday the 19th of June, Term two, week eight all the cluster groups including St Thomas, St Therese and students from St Joseph's, gathered in the hall at our school for the Junior Masterchef as part of enrichment. Mrs Lambourne our great teacher runs this with help from the year six leaders and our student teacher Miss Barr.
In this class we made sausage rolls and for a little snack, a fruit salad. To make this we got put into five groups with five other students from the other schools. I thought that this was a great opportunity to be leaders and work with different people. We did this because we want to be friends and get involved with other schools, also to learn new things which is fun and easy to do through enrichment.
We made these amazing and delicious sausage rolls with some puff pastry, beef, chicken and pork sausages, fruit chutney, poppy seeds and help from Mrs Lambourne and Mrs Barr. When we finished the sausage rolls, we made a healthy, delicious fruit salad. To do this we used different types of fruit like oranges, apples which were red and green and bananas we also used yoghurt and muesli to put on top which made a delicious and healthy snack.
After all we all had lots of fun and can’t wait to do it again!

Year 5/6 Soccer Knockout Match Report
On the 20th of June the St Josephs 5/6 soccer knockout team made history vs Ascot Park Primary school at Mitcham Girls High School by becoming the first team to ever make it through the first round. Our team walked from school to the pitch with Mr De to warm before the match.
Both team played a really close and competitive match which ended in a 3 all draw. This meant we went to extra time to try and get a winner. We didn’t have a result so in the end the game went to a very exciting penalty shoot out which we won 3-1.
At the end everyone had a great time and was very happy that we won.
