SAPSASA NETBALL
On the 13th of August ten girls participated in the knockout netball carnival from grade five and six. We travelled to Clapham Primary School and we were ready for the competition to begin. On the day we were going to play against Clapham Primary School, Heritage College and St Spyridon Primary School. Half an hour before the game was going to start we began to warm up as our adrenaline pumped through our bodies.
We all felt excited for our first game against Clapham and we knew they were going to be a tough team to beat. Through this game, we all felt that we might lose, but in the second half we began to come back. The end of the game had come and the final score was a draw and we had to play six minutes more and then we scored five goals and they scored one. This game was definitely a very intense match and all the girls came out with red faces and we looked like red ripe tomatoes.
The next game we went against Heritage College and we underestimated how good they were, sadly we lost to this team by a whopping amount approximately fifteen goals. After this match we learnt a valuable lesson to not make judgements based on their previous game score. This meant we had won one out of two games so far. If we wanted to get in to the next round we had to win the next game against Spyridon Primary School with a margin of fifty goals and Clapham Primary School had to win against Heritage College.
Spyridon Primary School was a good team, but they lacked height and this gave us a great advantage. In this match we won forty-six to four, but soon finding out that Clapham Primary School lost against Heritage College we knew that we did not get in to the next round.
We were quite disappointed in how we went, so the parents decided to make a stop at KFC and Maccas. This was a great experience for all of us and in the end we were all proud of ourselves for just trying our best and giving it a go. Go Joeys!
