Year 3/4 Basketball team (Coached by Matt Pepicelli) - The year in review
At the start of the year, we put together a bunch of fresh faced Year 3 boys for whom the majority had never played a game of competitive basketball. All the boys have been extremely enthusiastic all year, even with the morning training sessions. It has been a fantastic ride watching the boys develop as a team and seeing their skills improve. Over the first 6 games in term 1 it took a bit to get going, but in the Winter Season (Terms 2 & 3) – we finished Premiers with 14-1 Win Loss Record! Currently in 2022-2023 Summer Season (term 4) we finished top of the Ladder. Overall, our record for the year stands at 22 Wins/5 Losses / 1 draw. Quite impressive!
However, what I am most impressed with is the team culture and the level of sportsmanship displayed by our children to other teams, and this should be something everyone at our school is proud of. In one game this year, we beat the opposition 80-10. The other team were going to forfeit at half time, and every single one of our players volunteered to play for the other team and made sure the kids on the opposition team were the ones to score. Thank you to all the parents for getting their kids games and helping in various roles scoring, and sometimes coaching when I was not available. Looking forward to next year!

State Athletics Carnival – Charlie Revell
Congratulations to Charlie Revell who was selected in the State Athletics Team that competed in Queensland in week 6 of this Term. Charlie raced in the 100 m and 200 m events and achieved a PB time in the 200m. He also competed in the high Jump event and achieved a Personal best in his high jump of 1.45m and was a finalist in this event.
His team placed 4th in the relay behind NSW QLD and Vic and his team won the 8 x 80m mixed race on Monday which was a lot of fun.
