FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear parents, carers, and friends,

I hope this newsletter finds you well as we approach the end of another successful school term.

Firstly, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the students who made their confirmation on Tuesday evening. It was a special ceremony, led by Archbishop Patrick O'Regan, who took time to speak to every candidate. I would also like to express my gratitude to Fr John, Christine Farrugia, the parish team, sponsors and parents for their support in preparing our students for this important sacrament.

In other news, our students showcased their musical talents in the Instrumental Evenings last week. I want to give a special mention to our amazing drums corps for their fantastic performance that I was able to attend. These events wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of our instrumental tutors and the support of parents in helping students practice and prepare. Well done to all the musicians!

I would also like to extend my congratulations to the Reception students who graduated from Joey's this week, we look forward to you joining your new class next term. We are also excited to welcome our new cohort of Joeys in Term 3. Thank you to Serena for her ongoing support and induction of our Joey students.

Before School

As we continue to prioritize the safety of our students, I want to emphasize the importance of a calm and structured morning routine while students wait for class to start at 8.50am. To achieve this, we kindly request reducing fast-paced play at this time, as it accommodates children of various ages, including younger siblings and school-age children, as well as parents. We encourage quieter play activities, such as handball, while the more active play can be enjoyed during the allocated recess and lunch times. Staff sincerely appreciate the ongoing support of our parents in maintaining a safe and harmonious start to the day.

Semester 2 Reports

Reports will be go home on Wednesday next week. You will notice a new format, not dissimilar to previous reports this term. As part of Catholic Education SA all primary schools have moved to this new format through the introduction SEQTA, a platform which staff have been using for 18 months for continuous planning, assessment, and reporting. Some students have begun the next phase of implementation, for our older students to engage by uploading their work. The long-term view is for parents to have continuous access to student learning and assessment, to add to the twice-yearly reporting.

Staffing

I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to Tania Woods for her exceptional work with our students in the art program this term. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming "Gallery" exhibition for the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival.  Tania will be leaving us to resume her teaching role in her school. We wish Tania all the best and express our sincere thanks for her contributions to our students' artistic development. Further, we will announce the new Music teacher as soon as our appointment process is finalised. We look forward to their expertise and passion in nurturing our students' musical abilities.

As the school year comes to an end, I want to wish everyone a wonderful break during the holidays. May there be sun shine to fill your days. Enjoy the well-deserved rest and rejuvenation with family and friends.

Warm regards,
