Dear parents & caregivers,
Welcome back to school for 2019. As a school staff we are excited about the year ahead, with the many opportunities that your children will have to grow and learn.
New App launched
One exciting new initiative has been our new communications platform, Schoolzine.Hopefully, you have been able to connect to the platform, and are reading this first newsletter/blog! From now on, this will be the place to go for all information relating to the whole of our school community. You will be able to read our regular newsletters, receive notifications about upcoming events and important information, access our school calendar to find out when things are happening, access relevant forms and proformas, etc. Class information about student learning will continue to be shared via SeeSaw!
Over the first few weeks of the school year, a considerable amount of new information will be shared through the Schoolzine app – SZAPP! Please make sure you check each of the posts we share, and get into the swing of this new communication tool. If you have any questions or concerns about how the app is functioning, please don’t hesitate to contact use here at the school for clarification!
New Faces at St. Joseph’s
At the end of last year, there were a few staffing changes. On behalf of the school community, I welcome Mrs Steph Insanally as Music and Performing Arts teacher, band conductor and Catholic Schools Music Festival choir trainer. I would also like to welcome and congratulate Mrs Michelle Page, who will work alongside Steph, teaching music to our R-2 children and conducting our 3/4 band during 2019!
With our school embarking on a new journey as an R-6 parish school, we have an exciting opportunity to position ourselves as a school of first choice for families looking for a welcoming and nurturing community school with BIG opportunities! To this end, we have decided to create a new position of Marketing & Enrolments officer, to strengthen our already prominent profile. I am delighted to announce that we have appointed Mrs Bianca Bedson to this position. Bianca will be well known to many of you as Maggie and Sloan’s mum! She brings a wealth of experience in the corporate and educational sector in public relations, and she is passionate about promoting our school to the wider community. Bianca will work closely with the leadership team, as well as supporting our existing admin team.
