Dear families and friends,
What a start to term 4! In 2 weeks, we have had school photos, SAPSASA Basketball Final, whole school musical practice, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, World Teachers’ Day, Year 5 Leadership week, year 6 Camp to Kangaroo Island, All Saints Day Mass, KESAB incursion, and that’s without all our regular activities and no mention of the ever-changing wild weather!! Term 4 is always busy! Thanks to our parents who have consistently manage to organise children to be ready for each day!
SAPSASA
What a successful year we have had with SAPSASA!! It was great to see the final game of our Basketball team, although they lost another close game, I was most impressed with their skill level and how well they worked as a team. We came up against a tough pool of teams but held our own well. The first game finished in a draw, second game also finished in a draw, and the third game we won convincingly - meaning we were play for a place in the Grand Final. Unfortunately we lost to Seacliff and then played against Goodwood Primary for 3rd and 4th position, coming 4th in a nail biter finish which we lost by just two points. The team of children should hold their heads high, knowing they showed great sportsmanship and determination, fighting right until the final buzzer.
Special thanks to coach Damien Reemst and his son Jack for coaching, continuing to be involved even after children have left the school.

Our knockout Netball team made it all the way, winning the Final!
We have 3 students make teams
- Cricket: Noah
- Swimming: Emily Daunt
- Track and Field: Charlie Revell
I have been a principal for nearly 20 years, and I have never had a year where our school was represented in more than 2 SAPSASA final/team! I am extremely impressed with the talent and success. Congratulations to the parents for supporting your child each week at games and training over the years, for coaches and Mr D for their commitment to helping children reach their potential!!
Grandparents and Special Friends Day
The weather held off for a beautiful prayer and performance on Friday morning. It was so lovely to welcome so many visitors, I was overwhelmed by the numbers, and we even ran out of scones!!! I loved seeing the delight on faces when sharing, giving hugs and just simply being proud to show their school to their guest. This is such a significant event for children, especially after the past few ‘COVID’ years. We are already looking forward to 2023!

World Teachers’ Day
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our teachers and all the educators and support staff at St Joe’s. Each staff member plays an important role in supporting your children and the families of our community. It is a place of work where you need to be prepared to expect the unexpected. Working in a school isn’t for everyone, at St Joseph’s we blessed to have staff who want to make a difference, who love to learn and enjoy being with children. I thank each and every one of you, I also thank the parents for the support you offer our staff, I know it is appreciated.

We can't wait to showcase all of the children's hard work at the St Joseph's Kingswood Greatest Show performance on 16 November 2022.
If you haven't purchased your tickets yet, please read this communication regarding dates and click the links below.
Please note the below important information and contact your child's class teacher should you have any queries.
With two weeks til the performance, we hope most families have been able to source what their child needs for their costumes. As a reminder, please click here for the costume notes for each class and scroll your child's relevant page. Please reach out this week via Seesaw or in person with your child's teacher if you are unable to find what is needed, we may be able to help.
VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE - children will need to be dropped off at both the rehearsal during the day and at the evening performance (on 16th November) in their costumes for a full dress rehearsal and for ease on the night instead of children needing to get changed. The original consent form signed by families specified sports uniform to be worn to the Capri during the day, but as we will be running a full dress rehearsal, children must be dropped off in their costumes ready to go. (We request you consider what food/drink is sent along with children for the day/evening to limit the likelihood of spillage where possible). Please help us spread the word (families will be reminded again closer to the night).
